Peter Thomas Gromer, pianist and film composer, was born as son of a German architect in Backnang, Germany. After his first lessons in classical piano, he started lessons in improvisation with Paul Schwarz at University of Music and Performing Arts, Stuttgart in the early 1990s.
From 2001 to 2007 he studied at University of Music, Stuttgart (piano/improvisation) and in the US at Berklee College of Music Boston MA (filmscoring), studying with Don Wilkins and Sheldon Mirowitz. From 2006 to early 2009 he studied in the diploma program for filmscoring/sounddesign at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, Ludwigsburg.
Peter Thomas Gromer composes and arranges for film and televison and teaches jazz eartraining, improvisation and theory at University of Arts in Bern, Switzerland, and at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg. He lives in Stuttgart, Germany.
